Annie

Annie is a qualified Registered Sick Children’s Nurse (RSCN) her last NHS role was working in a purpose built school in Portsmouth, catering for the needs of children & young people aged between 2-19 years with severe and complex health care needs.  Also working within a local NHS Trust Children’s Continuing Care Team Annie provided training with on-going support and supervision for Nursery Nurses (NVQ 2 &3) who were employed to work at home, caring for children and young people with chronic and complex health care needs. Enjoying the training aspect of her role, Annie studied for and attained an Edexcel Award-Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) in 2014. Over the years Annie has experienced nursing children in the UK & overseas (NZ & Middle East). Annie considers herself to be friendly, cheerful, approachable, warm hearted, compassionate & sensitive.

Sandy

Sandy is a qualified Registered Sick Children’s Nurse [RSCN] and has been a community children’s nurse since 1996, working with children and young people who have long term conditions and complex health care needs. Sandy has always had a passion for teaching and has many years experience as a practice teacher following her qualification as a specialist practitioner in 2000. Working as a clinical matron in a local NHS trust meant that Sandy had a responsibility for leading on clinical governance ensuring care was safe and high quality. As part of this role Sandy developed competencies and training packages for nursery nurses working with children with continuing healthcare needs.  This business is an opportunity for Sandy to pass on her knowledge and experience to a variety of staff working with children and young people who have any additional health needs, ensuring that the children are cared for by staff with the right skills and competencies. Sandy would describe her personality as friendly, approachable, caring and passionate about ensuring the training sessions are fun, easy to understand and provide the practical skills required.
