Enjoying the training aspect of her role, Annie studied for and attained an Edexcel Award-Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) in 2014. Sandy is a qualified Registered Sick Children’s Nurse [RSCN] and has been a community children’s nurse since 1996, working with children and young people who have long term conditions and complex health care needs. Sandy has always had a passion for teaching and has many years experience as a practice teacher following her qualification as a specialist practitioner in 2000. Working as a clinical matron in a local NHS trust meant that Sandy had a responsibility for leading on clinical governance ensuring care was safe and high quality. As part of this role Sandy developed competencies and training packages for nursery nurses working with children with continuing healthcare needs. This business is an opportunity for Sandy to pass on her knowledge and experience to a variety of staff working with children and young people who have any additional health needs, ensuring that the children are cared for by staff with the right skills and competencies. Sandy would describe her personality as friendly, approachable, caring and passionate about ensuring the training sessions are fun, easy to understand and provide the practical skills required.
Tilly is an important member of our team as she allows students to practice their clinical skills in a safe environment and allows us to demonstrate the practical skills we teach in a realistic way
Our courses are bespoke and individualised to the needs of the child or young adult. Training courses will provide staff with the skills required to meet the individual needs of each child or young adult.
All our training courses are based on current NHS best practice and are competence based and assessed against nationally recognised standards.
